So It Begins....again!

Taylor and I are so very honored to embark on this journey again. A million thanks to those of you that supported us last year. It was only because of your backing that we were able to take 5 deserving students to Poland to attend the 13th World Summit of Nobel Laureates.

This year, our task is even greater. We now have 6 exceptional students ready to represent not just the city of Hartford, but our entire country in Cape Town, South Africa at the 14th World Summit of Nobel Laureates. The World Summit Committee and the other organizational members were extremely impressed by our Hartford High Students. There were ongoing comments which commended their preparedness and honored their intelligence. Needless to say, they graciously invited us back and will be expecting the same caliber of performance.

In order to ensure that our students are confident and prepared, we have already begun the preparation process which is inclusive of after school sessions, public speaking engagements, and the use of a specific curriculum that not only briefs them on important issues but more importantly, fosters analytical, critical, and solution-based thinking. While all of this preparation is demanding and heavy, it is actually the easiest part of our effort.

As you may know, more than 2/3 of our funding comes from individual donations. Our most challenging barrier is, of course, having enough funds to get our students to this conference. As it did last year, it will come down to the support of those who believe in our students and their capacity to learn and eventually, shape the future. The link to our fundraising website is below. We appreciate all of your time, support, and faith.
